Insulator apprentices cut and form insulation materials, make molded plastic forms, laminate fiberglass cloth and mix bonding materials. Insulation work ranges from the fabrication and manufacturing of various kinds of insulating materials to their selection, preparation and actual installation aboard ship.

X334 Blueprint Reading for Insulators 11 Hours, 1 Credit
The WCSC supports the entire apprentice program by providing each apprentice with the technical knowledge required for the mastery of a trade, and an opportunity to obtain an associate degree in business administration, engineering technology, or engineering. The curriculum provides the educational foundation necessary for continued growth throughout a career.
The Apprentice School is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.
