Maintenance Pipefitter apprentices learn to repair and maintain the various piping systems and facilities throughout the shipyard’s 550 acre facility. Maintaining these piping systems and facilities is critical to shipyard operations. Apprentices in this trade also become proficient in many skills and processes, including bending, threading, brazing and welding.

The WCSC supports the entire apprentice program by providing each apprentice with the technical knowledge required for the mastery of a trade, and an opportunity to obtain an associate degree in business administration, engineering technology, or engineering. The curriculum provides the educational foundation necessary for continued growth throughout a career.
